Business Segment Director, Clinical Toxicology (MDM/MAT)

The Specialty Medicine Business Segment is seeking a talented marketing leader to grow our specialty business as a key member of the Specialty Medicine leadership team, with specific focus on medical drug monitoring and medication-assisted therapy, while enhancing the overall strategic marketing and analytical capacity of the specialty medicine function.  This person will have the opportunity to grow this important focus area for Labcorp in supporting patients and providers by working with our excellent science and operations team, as well as our dedicated sales organization.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Serves as the clinical toxicology subject matter expert for drug monitoring and medication-assisted therapy products and programs. Responsible for researching and uncovering the unmet needs of customers through various methods including partnering with the science and clinical team, sales, other cross-functional SMEs and the market insights team.
  • Key product responsibilities include strong partnership with the business, scientific and dedicated sales leadership team to drive accomplishment of business plan, including product life cycle management and service enhancements.
  • Actively participates on the specialty marketing team to elevate marketing practices and performance, actively suggesting innovative approaches to effectively engage and support both professional clients and patients.
  • Leads and effectively utilizes standard marketing practices to complete a comprehensive business case for proposed new testing and services (portfolio management, marketing strategy, customer segmentation and targeting, reimbursement analysis, financial modeling, risk management, value proposition development, etc.).
  • Builds and executes robust product launch plans, including value proposition, segmentation/targeting, messaging, selling tools, operations and sales training modules.
  • Routinely collects and reviews key metrics, customer feedback, industry trends, competitive offerings, guidelines, and relevant journal publications.
  • Develops programs and initiatives that improve customer experience and strengthen retention of customer base, including partnering with the digital team to improve the customer experience.
  • Engages and travels with field sales representatives to understand the current selling environment, competitive products, and customer needs. Additionally, travels to relevant conferences/scientific meetings to understand emerging targets and products, and gain competitive insights.
  • Coordinate with Specialty Medicine leadership team and divisional sales management to define priorities and execute sales strategies and tactics.
  • Manages activities related to the development and execution of the strategic and tactical marketing plans, including partnering with the campaign and digital marketing teams.
  • Tracks business initiatives, forecasts performance of assigned product and advises the senior leadership about relevant strategic actions.
  • Deeply understands the test ordering process and product details (workflow and technical) from a customer perspective.
  • Provide on-going technical and product support for sales efforts
  • Manage relationships with physician organizations and national contracts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree - B.A. or B.S. required; master's degree in biological sciences or marketing preferred
  • 7+ years combined healthcare laboratory or similar business experience in sales, marketing, training; experience in toxicology or drug testing segment strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze complex business problems and conceptualize work streams with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence across functions to drive results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong aptitude for learning and communicating complex medical and scientific test/services
  • Drive for Results-ensure procedures, metrics and processes are in place that lead to the delivery of quality results and routinely evaluate their effectiveness to achieve continuous improvement.
