CornerStone seeks for a Claims Examiner who has excellent customer service skills with the ability to train to the highest level of service. The Examiner must have both Personal and Commercial lines claims technical experience and be able to multi-task on day to day claims technical issues and has strong decision making, motivation, and communication skills. It is important to have the ability to plan, coordinate and communicate daily with field adjusters and business clients.

Work Hours: 8am - 5pm


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

-Man ages the work activities for business clients on claims technical issues.

-Contributes to profitability by effective implementation of claim handling best practices for each client.

-Ensures claim files are handled in accordance with company guidelines.


Day to Day Duties & Responsibilities:

-Check on n ew claims received during the day and coordinate those assignments with the examiners to make sure good decisions are made related to those assignments.

-Handle technical and daily questions from the field as needed.

-Reviews and manages the claims diary and CMS related issues.

-Assures communications with appropriate parties regarding the handling and/or disposition of claims.

-Keeps current on state/territory regulations and issues, insurance contracts, industry activity and trends.



Job Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

-Ability to effectively lead, coach and develop the field adjusters on claims technical issues.

-Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Must effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.

-Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritizemultiple projects.

-Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.

-Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.

-Ability to achieve business goals and objectives.

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

-Good working knowledge of Xactimate (Level Certifications a plus)

-Symbility knowledge and experience is a plus also.


Education & Experience:

-Bachelo r's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred.

-Typically a minimum 5-10 years claims experience.
