A New Jersey-based healthcare system is currently seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join their team in Essex County. About the Opportunity: State Date: ASAP Schedule: 12 or 24 hour shifts, must be open to weekends Patient Volume: 15 to 20 per day Responsibilities: Admit children and adolescents to the hospital when they require inpatient care. Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, reviewing their medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests to make accurate diagnoses and create treatment plans. Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric medical conditions, including infectious diseases, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, surgical conditions, and more. Make daily rounds on hospitalized patients to assess their progress, update treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care. Perform various procedures, including lumbar punctures, central line placements, and intubations, when necessary to manage and treat pediatric patients. Communicate with patient's families to provide updates on their child's condition, explain treatment plans, and address any questions or concerns. Work on discharge plans and ensure that patients are stable and safe for discharge, and that appropriate follow-up care is arranged for continued recovery.
