VHS is looking for a qualified OR RN for a contract in Atlanta, Georgia!

Shift: 0645-5pm
4 days a week, Monday-Friday
No call required
BLS, PALS, PEARS.
2+ years OR experience, pediatric experience preferred.
Neuro, Ortho, ENT, Gen, Eyes.
Call is required 2 4s, 2 8s, 2 12s minimum per 6 week period.
Cost Center: 14400.
NICOTINE FREE FACILITY must be tested with drug screen.
GA or Compact RN license

This job carries out functions that assist the surgeon in performing surgery with optimal results for the patient, practices under the direct supervision of the surgeon, and functions in either a circulator or scrub role. Provides for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process. Directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members with assigned responsibilities; collaborates with multidisciplinary team and coordinates delivery of plan of care.

Education

Required - Registered Nurse diploma

Preferred - Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Nursing

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Knowledge, skills and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner.


Job Duties
  • Performs direct and indirect patient care duties.
  • Exhibits competencies in the care of and services provided to patients/customers in specific relation to their age and developmental stage with supervision of the staff nurse.
  • Communicates with Surgeon on any special needs.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
