MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives. May participate in continuous improvement events. Welder operation Assist engineering in trouble shooting and fixture design Facilitate effective interaction, teamwork, and communication with production teams and engineering Assist in the development of routine maintenance procedures to insure optimal machine uptime Assist in specification, justification, installation and integration of new capital equipment Be recognized as an expert in robotic welding to assist engineering teams on weldment design to facilitate automated welding processes during new product creation processes Write new programs for weldments and update existing programs to support engineering changes Move to other work areas in order to support production needs. (Cross-train) Effectively train new/current associates. Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices to include proper use and care of PPE Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment. Basic Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: High School Diploma/GED Welding Tech Degree/Certificate or 2+ yrs of applicable welding experience-may consider if degree in process. Ability to effectively communicate and present technical information in written and verbal forms to a variety of audiences Competence with basic office software including email, spreadsheets, and presentations AWS D.1.1 weld certification within three months of hire Ability to read, write, comprehend, and analyze Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
