Job Description

We're looking for a technical architect to help with the design and engineering for our internal business-facing AI applications. Our applications deal with a range of technology in this field, from Generative AI through to Optimisation modelling. You'll work with data scientists, solution architects, engineering teams and subject matter experts from wider Tech Central teams and business SMEs.

Skills and experience:

Practical experience with detailed knowledge of the following areas:

• Software Development (for example, .NET, React, Node or Python)

• Productionising AI and Data science solutions (e.g utilising AI models, Generative AI, LLMs)

And experience of the following:

Cloud environments (e.g GCP, Azure)

• Deployment and monitoring of compute intensive resources (i.e. "MLOps")

• Information Security

• Integration Patterns

• Speaking on behalf of technical teams and facilitating relationships with indirect stakeholders

• Recommending decisions and describing the reasoning behind these

• The ability to design systems characterised by managed levels of risk, manageable business and technical complexity and meaningful impact. You can work with well understood technology and identify appropriate patterns.

• An appreciation of how your work supports the team. You can identify wider influences and how they apply. You keep an open mind and can understand the broader context.



Key responsibilities

Undertaking structured analysis of technical issues and translating this analysis into technical designs that describe a solution

• Working closely with Solution Architects and Data Scientists when designing appropriate solutions in line with business and technology strategy

• Identifying and triaging deeper issues that need fixing

• Looking for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Gaining an understanding of the overall strategy and how the architecture supports this

• Regularly connecting with fellow architects to draw on and share expertise and experiences

• Ensuring architectural decisions align to agreed guardrails

• Understanding the latest trends in technology and innovation, as well as new and future emerging technologies
